STUDENT DEMONSTRATIONS, FRANCE. Paris city centre. 31st March-1st April Student demonstrations against CPE. Students marched from Bastille to the National Assembly, Senat, Sorbonne, Chatelet, Sacre Coeur finally ending in arrests Saturday morning in the 9th arrondissement. Students set up barricades along the route, which police systematically pulled down. The CRS police followed the students all night. Many were arrested including young photographers who didn't carry an official press-card. The new employment contract which allows employers to terminate employment within a two year period for under 26 year olds, without any reason or notice.

The new employment contract which allows employers to terminate employment within a two year period for under 26 year olds, without any reason, and at a moments notice. The demonstrations have also attracted violence from discontented youth groups from the suburbs against the CRS, French Riot Police who use tear gas and water cannon against demonstrators. National Strike, March 28th 2006.
